School students discover formula of success at ONHP
Omsk school students undergoing summer on-the-job training at PAO OMSKNEFTEKHIMPROEKT (ONHP) had a meeting with Mr. Igor M. ZUGA, ONHP CEO. The students shared their experience of trying to be an engineer and showed their grade books. They also discussed the ways of achieving success in everything and discovered their own formula of success.
On June 1, 2016 boys and girls of grade 10 from 45 Omsk schools started their summer on-the-job training at ONHP. For these 40 students the month passed very quickly. Within that time the trainees discovered a lot of new things, they got acquainted with professional engineering software, attended Technical English Courses, performed various tasks assigned by their supervisors (ONHP young specialists) etc. According to the students, on-the-job training helped many of them to make a more specific decision on their future profession.
The trainees meeting with the company CEO is a tradition which is followed for many years. As a rule the meeting is held in the last days of the training when the students have already got used to the company, obtained new competences and got new impressions of engineership.
The students were a bit nervous waiting for the meeting with CEO.
“Who knows what questions Mr. Igor M. ZUGA will ask! What if he reads our grade books?” asked they each other.
And the students were right. ONHP CEO actually read their grade books and asked “tricky” questions, for example, definition of luck and success. The trainees were a little confused in the beginning, but in a while they shared their thoughts and it seemed there would be no end to the discussion. Finally informal talk resulted in a formula of success consisting of diligence, motivation and discipline.
- We do not regret at all that we joined this on-the-job training, - say the girls from Lyceum 25. We have discovered so many new things about the work of an engineer and about the company. It was surely very interesting to find out what complicated and challenging projects are implemented by ONHP engineers in Russia and abroad. And, of course, we have started here new friendship which we are going to continue.
The first season of training is coming to the end. As early as on July 1 other students will come to the company for new knowledge and experience to discover their own formula of success.
