Meeting between Omsk Governor and Singaporean companies

Mr. Viktor I. NAZAROV, Governor of the Omsk Region had a meeting with Mr. Raheed Akbar NARGUND, IE Singapore Regional Director for Russia and CIS and Mr. Mike Mariyappa THIRUMAN, President of Singapore Teachers Union (Educare) to discuss cooperation in education and in promising areas of other branches of economy. The meeting was held within the visit of Singaporean companies representatives to the Omsk Region at the invitation of Mr. Igor M. ZUGA, ONHP CEO.

- We have common interests which can be currently discussed. We also consider economy, investment and education as the basis for the region development. Regarding investment climate, we have generated investor support system which is also available to foreign investors. The government of the Omsk Region undertakes to promote investment projects. We are willing and prepared for cooperation – highlighted Mr. Viktor NAZAROV in his opening speech.

The guests, in turn, introduced to the receiving party their education technologies to improve professional development of teachers who define not only school student knowledge level, but also contribute to the willingness of the youth to deal with modern challenges and to meet employer’s expectations. Such features as competitiveness at the labor market, creativity, leadership skills also depend on the teachers.

 Closing the meeting the Head of the region said that in order to promote the Singaporean education system in the Omsk Region, it is necessary to develop implementation mechanisms and solve financing issues.
