Eliminating knowledge gap between universities and companies
In ONHP an expanded meeting of the ONHP-based faculties Council was held. The meeting was attended by ONHP-based faculties’ representatives from Omsk State University named after Fyodor M. DOSTOEVSKY, Omsk State Technical University and from Siberian State Automobile and Highway Academy. The meeting’s agenda was work outcomes of 2016 and prospects of ONHP Corporate University development. According to the speech of Mr. Igor M. ZUGA, ONHP CEO, ONHP-based faculties possessed their own experience focused on high-quality cooperation between higher education enterprises and employers of Omsk region. Determinant of such cooperation is successful employment of ONHP-based faculties’ graduates.
Efficiency improvement of vocational education in Russia is one of the most significant factors necessary for Russian economy development. Competitiveness of higher education enterprises and demand for graduates at labor market depend, to a great extent, on practical approach of educational process. Enhancement of practice-oriented development will help to eliminate existing gap between competence level of students and efficiency level of further professional occupation. At the state level companies-based faculties are given a special role at practical approach of educational process execution.
There are three ONHP-based faculties: at Omsk State University named after Fyodor M. DOSTOEVSKY, at Omsk State Technical University and at Siberian State Automobile and Highway Academy. ONHP follows basic state trends of educational policy. Within specialists training for real economy sector there is an increased focus on quality improvement of educational process at baccalaureate not only by means of multiplication of students’ practical training in ONHP Interdisciplines Engineering Department, but also by means of educational and scientific-research activities integration within students design bureaus. By the way students design bureau Sum of Technologies is already established at ONHP-based faculty Design of Chemical Engineering Systems at Omsk State University. The decision about its establishment was made within the previous meeting of ONHP-based faculty Design of Chemical Engineering Systems.
For master's degree programs it is important to use new knowledge, scientific and technical achievements including those which are available at ONHP, Omsk higher education enterprises and ONHP’s partners – foreign higher education enterprises.
As it was pointed out at the meeting, further activities of the faculties should be designed to maintenance of expertise and adaptation of higher education enterprises curricula regarding development of professional competences necessary for modern engineering and to cooperation enhancement of ONHP Interdisciplines Engineering Department and students design bureau when solving real tasks of Russian economy. Outlook of ONHP-based faculties should include ONHP Corporate University amplified advancement through development and implementation of students’ supplementary education programs and qualifications upgrade of different ONHP’s design specialists.
