School students, welcome to ONHP!

ONHP held Open Day for Omsk school students and their parents. Children and adults got acquainted with the comprehensive engineers training program which has been implemented in the company for 15 years and with the activities of specific departments.

Open Day is traditionally held in ONHP every year for Omsk school students of grade 9 to 10 and their parents in order to get them acquainted with the engineering profession which may become a deal of their children’s lifetime. During school year ONHP young professionals hold career guidance classes in schools. When visiting ONHP school students can see real engineers working and ask them various questions.

The last Open Day was no exception. School students visited Piping Engineering department, Civil Engineering department, unique geotechnical laboratory and Interdisciplines Engineering department which was established in ONHP quite recently with a special purpose. Employees of this department are the students of Omsk universities who study alongside employment and young professionals straight from the university. And many of these specialists just a few years ago also visited the Open Day and underwent on-the-job training in ONHP. School students noted that this event would mainly govern their final decision when choosing a future profession.

After visiting ONHP departments children asked a lot of questions. The fact witnessing their interest and burning desire to be involved into engineering process is that many of them are already very eager to take part in ONHP on-the-job training. Competitive selection among school students to undergo this training is currently held by ONHP. This training is traditionally for those who get only high (A and B) grades.

Within "School-University-Enterprise" program implemented by ONHP 1064 school student underwent on-the-job training, 799 students undertook internship and 355 graduates were eventually employed by ONHP.
