Mastering Robotics Technology

On July 29, 2014 school students undergoing on-the-job-training in Omskneftekhimproekt JSC (ONHP) under “School-University-Company” program visited OmSTU-FESTO training center.

Approximately in 1495 Leonardo da Vinci designed a mechanical armor-clad knight that appeared to be the first robot.  Nowadays, robotics technology accompanies us everywhere and you can hardly find production cycles which would not involve a close interaction of a robot and a man.

Excursion to OmSTU-FESTO training center established at Automation and Robotics Technology department of Omsk State Technical University, provided school students with an opportunity to visit the place where future inventors of robotics technology study, to get acquainted with the modern systems and facilities of process technology and production automation, as well as probably to decide on future profession.

Mr. Vasily G. Khomchenko, Doctor of Engineering, professor and head of Automation and Robotics Technology department told school students about opportunities provided by this center to OmSTU students of information technologies and computer systems faculty, emphasizing that faculty graduates are highly sought -for at many Russian companies including ONHP.

– Design, development and application of robotics technology is the most interesting activity of creative people. The demand for young specialists who have mastered a skill to create and operate equipment and processes either in automatic or automated modes is very high at the moment and it will increase along with the development of industry and living standards of a person both in Russia and the whole world, – Mr. Vasily G. Homchenko said.
