Junior Year Students specializing in Chemical Engineering from Atyrau Institute of Oil and Gas (the Republic of Kazakhstan) have been undergoing on-the-job training in OMSKNEFTEKHIMPROEKT JSC (ONHP) since May 27, 2013.

In order to create an HR Pool ONHP is implementing “School University Company” program under which an Agreement of Intent has been concluded with Atyrau Institute of Oil and Gas. It is the second time ONHP is hosting Atyrau students. This year a group of 6 students has arrived to ONHP to undergo an internship. Future engineers were engaged in Piping Arrangement and Process Departments of the Company.

The first days encompassed a tour around OMSKNEFTEKHIMPROEKT JSC accompanied by stories of ONHP background.  Later on the students were invited for a coordination meeting, after which they got down to internship. In order to get additional required information, the students had a chance to take advantage of documentation available in ONHP library and archives. Each student had a workstation and a supervisor selected from young professionals. Such on-the-job training shall enable future professionals to study in details the technologies, applied in the Company, to get acquainted with used software as well as to gain professional skills.

Upon the completion of the first business week, a tour around Omsk city memorial and historical sites was arranged by ONHP young professionals. The students visited a monument devoted to a scientist, traveler and educator Shoqan Walikhanov, had a walk down Irtysh quay and took pictures near Omsk sights.
