ONHP-BASED FACULTY OPENED IN OMSTU

In September of 2014 the company-based faculty was opened in OmSTU in cooperation with ONHP, a company providing consulting and design engineering services for enterprises of oil refining, petrochemical, gas processing, gas chemical and chemical industries. Facilities within ONHP design are as follows:

  • oil refining , petrochemical, chemical, gas chemical, gas processing plants as a whole;
  • process units of oil refining, petrochemical, chemical and gas processing plants; 
  • offsite & utilities: intermediate and finished products storage tank farms, treatment facilities for storm water and industrial and domestic effluents, compressor and nitrogen-oxygen stations, water conditioning structures, flare facilities, transformer substations, boiler houses using liquid and gaseous fuel and other facilities.
  • products pipelines, pumping stations, tank farms, oil and products transloading terminals.

Company-based faculty was opened in order to improve the process of education by involving highly qualified specialists of the company different disciplines as practicing instructors according to the faculty specialties. Further cooperation between university and the company and future professionals training is also of paramount importance. Involving students, postgraduates and university department tutors both enables research and development activity of the faculty and solves the problems regarding graduates employment and personnel search for the company.

Company-based faculty arranges and gives classes in innovative forms. It is assumed to execute scientific papers and graduation thesis on the basis of the company with practical application. Education program includes several directions as follows:

  •  “Oil and Gas Engineering”;
  • “Process Chemistry”;
  • “Power Industry and Electrical Engineering”;
  • “Processes and Production Automation”;
  • “Control in Engineering Systems”.

Within education at company-based faculty students will be involved in large scientific and engineering projects and research studies; they will take part in the company operation and put the accumulated skills into practice, this fact will reduce adaptation period in case of employment. Students who will academically show themselves to the best advantage will be further employed by ONHP.
