Glavgosexpertiza approves ONHP green construction project

PAO ONHP developed construction project of advanced waste water treatment facilities for the Gazpromneft Omsk Refinery. The project obtained positive finding of Russian Glavgosexpertiza (Russian Main Expert Review). Gazpromneft will invest 17 bln RUB in the construction.

New enclosed-type waste water treatment facilities are a part of Gazpromneft Omsk Refinery integrated modernization program implemented by Gazpromneft since 2008. Maximum reduction of industrial load on the environment is one of key priorities of this program. The government of the Russian Federation included the project into Federal Plan of measures to be taken within Russian Year of Ecology.

New treatment facilities will be equipped with cutting-edge multilevel water treatment system including mechanical, physical, chemical, biological treatment, carbon filtration and ultraviolet disinfection. Due to this system around 70% of water will return to the Refinery process cycle and loading on the city treatment facilities will be reduced. Complete leak-tightness of all processes will prevent oil products evaporation into atmosphere and will allow reducing impact of the Omsk Refinery treatment facilities on the atmospheric air by 95%.

Project process solutions will enable 17 times reducing general area of treatment facilities at the Omsk Refinery along with their capacity increase by 24%. Operating waste water treatment facilities beyond Omsk Refinery area will be decommissioned.
