Documentation for “Izomalk-2”

Gazpromneft – Omsk Refinery

In autumn 2010, the largest isomerization plant for “Izomalk-2” light petroleum fractions began operations. The plant is recognized as the largest in Russia with the capacity of 800 000 tons of isomerizate per year, and is one of the three most powerful plants of such kind in the world. Izomerizate is used in the production of high-octane gasoline as it doesn’t contain olefinic or aromatic hydrocarbons and consequently improves the operational properties of engines and considerably reduces the content of harmful emissions in exhaust gases. Such automobile fuels correspond to the Euro-4 and Euro-5 standards. The ONHP has executed working and generating documentation for the project and received the ’go-ahead’ to begin from Glavgosexpertiza of Russia. In August 2011, an isomerization plant for “Izomalk-2” light petroleum fractions of the Omsk Refinery took 1st place in the regional competition of construction objects as the ‘Best Industrial Functioning Object’. In the assessment process during the competition, architectural solutions, the application of new technologies and materials (including energy saving ones), and also technical and economic indicators were estimated.
