ONHP CONGRATULATES CONTEST WINNERS

In the scope of IX International Research and Engineering Technology Conference "Digital transformation – innovation driver and key to efficient management" held with the support of the Ministry of Economics of Omsk Region, the results of the Translation Contest held on the eve of International Translation Day and dedicated to ONHP 65 Anniversary were announced.

The results of Translation Contest held among ONHP employees and partners of the company, teachers, freelancers and other participants (42 people all together) will be announced in December.

The Contest covered among 200 participants and spread all over Russia, including:

  • 30 school students from 7 schools of Omsk, Petrozavodsk, Stavropol, Taganrog, Tula, Volgograd, Kemerovo, Ufa;
  • 128 university students (48 students from linguistic disciplines students and 80 students studying at specialties not related to any translation activity)  from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Rostov, Nizhny Novgorod, Volgograd, Pskov, Irkutsk, Murmansk, Khabarovsk, Tomsk, Tyumen, Chelyabinsk, Orenburg, Lipetsk, Petrozavodsk, Ryazan, Saratov, Belgorod, Krasnoyarsk, Smolensk Kursk, Perm, Cheboksary, Pyatigorsk.

Students from Omsk State Universities, studying at Chemical technology, Ecology and natural resource use as well as Chemistry participated in the Contest.

ONHP commission thoroughly studied all submitted works and used a merit point system for objective assessment. The evaluation board took into account creative approach to description stylistics as well as compliance with all norms and requirements of translation language, compliance with grammatical, lexical, stylistic and punctuation norms.

Due to the large amount of works done at a high level, ONHP commission decided to award participants by nominations, select the Prize Winners, and award diplomas for third, second and first place.

Mr. Rostislav Mikhailovich Usachev, Grade 3 "B" student from "Zelenovskaya secondary school" of Frolovsky municipal district (Volgograd region) won in the nomination "The youngest participant";

The 3rd place among school students was taken by Antonina Sergeevna Babushkina, Grade 10 "G” student of Budgetary General Education institution of Omsk Region Multidisciplinary Educational Center for Talent Development No. 117

The 2nd place among school students was taken by Robert Sergeevich Streikh, Grade 10 of Lyceum No. 166, Omsk;

1 place among school students took Nikolai Konstantinov, Grade  9 "B" student of MBOU "Lyceum", Novomoskovsk, Tula region.

2nd place among students of non-linguistic specialties took Mikheeva Ekaterina Andreevna 4th year, Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University n.a. V.P. Astafieva

First place among students of non-linguistic specialties was taken by Viktoriya Arutyunyan, Lipetsk branch of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation (“State and Municipal Administration”).

The winners of the Competition included: Polina Anelikova, 3rd year, Chelyabinsk State University, specialty: Translation and Translation Studies (English and Chinese), who took 3rd place in the Competition;

Tonoyan Susanna Surenovna, 3rd year, Tyumen State University, Interpreter in the field of professional communication, who took 3rd place in the Competition;

Yulia S. Chernomordik 3rd year of the program “Translator in the field of professional communication”, Perm State National Research University, which took 3rd place in the Competition.

2nd place among students of linguistic specialties was shared by Nikita Gordeev, 4th year “Linguistics. Translation and Translation Studies ”, Murmansk Arctic State University; Dudkova Darina, 4th year, IMOIV, Linguistics, Kazan Federal University; Sirenko Snezhana Olegovna, 4th year, direction "Linguistics", Institute of Philology and Language Communication, Siberian Federal University, Krasnoyarsk

1 place was taken by Nadezhda Makeeva, Moscow State Linguistic University, specialty “Linguistics”, faculty of English
