Which way to go?

Day by day during the month 42 school students side by side with their supervisors selected from ONHP specialists have been performing tasks, learning English, improving their computer skills and have been getting acquainted with various ONHP departments.

“School- University-Company” program, which was honored in 2014 with Omsk Mayor Youth Award has been running in ONHP since 2001. Straight from school, the teen-agers are getting ready for their future career: for engineering and technical jobs which are in high demand. Upon the completion of on-the-job-training, school students with the highest scores get an opportunity to be enrolled into universities under ONHP references and to undergo an internship as university students.

In the end of the “journey” around ONHP, school students who have been learning the basics of engineering profession and have been performing the tasks from various departments got their final scores, absorbed the parting words and demonstrated their multiple talents to the great surprise of the audience. The Summary Concert agenda included stage performance written by trainees themselves. Also young talents recited the poems, sang songs, danced and played musical instruments.

Exact science is only a drop in diverse pool of school students’ hobbies! Active, goal-oriented, versatile and talented teenagers, who contributed their time and efforts into becoming familiar with engineering profession, came to ONHP to demonstrate their talents. But the most important is that the internship helped the participants to make one of the most significant decisions in life – career selection. 

Irrespective of whether it is engineering-related or non-engineering related profession, each of them will choose his own life path. And we hope that tomorrow one of todays’ trainees becomes a famous engineer having returned to the place where it all started or having selected another engineering company of our country.
