Successful future depends on young generation; young generation mentoring depends on us

The meeting of ONHP-based faculty Design of Chemical Engineering Systems was upscaled. Among the meeting participants there were all faculty educators, students and master's students headed by the faculty Head, ONHP CEO Mr. Igor M. ZUGA. Meeting participants approved the faculty structure, students’ technical specifications for term theses, working schedule to the end of the year. Furthermore faculty members approved establishment of students design bureau Sum of Technologies.

It was the first time for the faculty-meeting to be held in such expanded scale with participation of Siberian State Automobile and Highway Academy and Omsk State Technical University. Faculty educators, who are employees from ONHP, Gazpromneft Omsk Refinery JSC, Gazpromneft-Lubricants LTD, discussed issues regarding content and quality of curricula developed for companies-based faculties. Nowadays employers are brought to cooperate with educational institutions because of qualified human resources shortage in the presence of industrial process innovations, formation and development of global labor markets, labor force mobility increase. Employers’ participation in graduates’ competences formation is raising, their influence on specialist training is getting higher and companies-based faculties promote this process, they help to bring education, science and industrial process together.

ONHP-based faculty Design of Chemical Engineering Systems was established two years ago. Its main activity is specialists training for ONHP, other regional and Kazakhstani enterprises which work in petrochemical, gas chemical, oil and gas refinery sectors. Students who study there acquire practice-oriented education; they have an opportunity to use ONHP’s facilities and resources. Students undertake internship and study in a higher education institution simultaneously. To be more specific, youngsters work in ONHP Interdisciplines Engineering Department where they implement term theses whose subjects correlate with company’s tasks. Cooperation with students shows that there is a necessity in curricula and educational subjects’ content improvement. Employers’ impact on future graduates’ competences shall be enhanced. Within the meeting a discussion revolved around last-mentioned topic. Analysis shows that curricula are in need of additional expertise and industrial process adaption.

Another agenda item was establishment of students design bureau Sum of Technologies based on ONHP-based faculty Design of Chemical Engineering Systems. The bureau will deal with extra-curricular activities for students and high-schoolers, its members will organize competitions, conferences, forums, also they will execute socially significant projects. Faculty educators offered to add professional activities into bureau by organizing close cooperation with ONHP Interdisciplines Engineering Department.

Mr. Igor M. ZUGA, ONHP CEO, is confident that with mentioned activities implementation ONHP-based faculty will become a high-class intelligence source which will be able to transform and work in current economic environment worldwide.
