ONHP share implementation of two major projects for Atyrau Oil Refinery

OMSKNEFTEKHIMPROEKT JSC (ONHP) specialists designed Aromatics Complex and Deep Oil Refining Complex for Atyrau Oil Refinery (the Republic of Kazakhstan). In accordance with Contract the Project Design (PD) Documentation was submitted to Client in due time.

Aromatics Complex is a two-phase Project. Phase one included development of PD documentation for Continuous Catalytic Reformer (CCR). Phase two covers design of Aromatics Complex.

Aromatics Complex is comprised of the facilities as follows:

- Continuous Catalytic Reformer (CCR);

- Benzene and Toluene Extraction Unit;

- Paraxylene Production Unit;

- Toluene and Heavy Aromatics Transalkylation Unit;

- Raffinate Splitter;

- Off-Site Facilities.

ONHP specialists have designed all the above mentioned facilities.

Construction of the Complex which shall be completed by December 2013 is well under way. Concreting is already performed in full scope at CCR site. Sinopec Engineering (PRC) is performing civil engineering activities at 16 sites for 46 titles having engaged 25 Kazakh Subcontractors for implementation of Aromatics Complex Project. ONHP specialists are responsible for Construction Supervision.

Aromatics Complex will increase capacity in production up to 133 KTA of benzene and 496 KTA of paraxylene which will be feed for production of 1.250 MTA of polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP). Aromatics Complex design capacity appears to be reached in 2014.

It is scheduled to complete construction activities of Deep Oil Refining Complex at Atyrau Refinery in 2016. Design and estimate documentation was developed by ONHP specialists and was approved by RK State Expertise in December 2012. Study of options for Deep Oil Refining Complex has been performed during the project implementation. It was shared also by LLP Rominserv-Kazakhstan and KBC. As the result of study it was confirmed that applied processes were properly defined. The Complex is designed to refine 2.4 MTA of feedstock (fuel oil, VGO). With 5.5 MTA capacity of crude the refinery will annually produce 1.745 MTA of motor gasoline, 1.640 MTA of diesel fuel, 244 KTA of jet kero. The production of fuel oil will be reduced to 193 KT. All motor fuels quality will meet Euro-5 level.
