ONHP Integrates Advanced 3D Modeling Technologies for Design

OMSKNEFTEKHIMPROEKT JSC (ONHP) have commenced an integration of Tekla Structures software into the design process. The software product developed by Tekla Corporation (Finnish Company) is one of the most powerful tools for 3D modeling of Civil Engineering Structures.  

Design engineering using 3D Modeling software systems has been implemented in ONHP since 2004. Two major 3D Software Packages, namely AVEVA Plant by AVEVA (Great Britain) and Smart Plant Enterprise by Intergraph (USA) have been completely integrated into ONHP engineering design process within this timeframe. So far, over dozen large-scale projects have been designed using the mentioned software products.    

In order to increase efficiency in creating and managing 3D structural models using civil engineering CAD software, ONHP top management decided to consider an option of alternative software thereto. As referred to in documentation, Tekla Structures enables an engineer to create detailed 3D Models of both Steel and Reinforced Concrete Structures and to issue textual and graphical documentation as well as to manage data at various phases of the project.

Tekla Structures makes it possible to transfer engineering data to other software, without violating ONHP’s basic principle of work performance in shared, or so called common, information space for all project participants.   

As of today ONHP structural engineers have already developed a pilot project in Tekla Structures.
