Omsk students finished summer internship in ONHP
Omsk school students came through ONHP practice with flying colors. Summer working season was covered over by The Scientific and Technical Conference, where our young colleagues presented and defended their first projects. Schoolchildren, who earned the highest score, received special certificates that give them the right to return to ONHP for practice outside the competition when they will become students of universities.
For more than 15 years, Omsk teenagers have traditionally come to ONHP to gain their first work experience, to discover the engineer profession and to find out what specialists are still being looked for by the company to design the most complex petrochemical facilities in Russia and abroad.
On the last day of July, the company closed the second season of summer internship-2018. The defence of the first projects became a vivid end of the summer work season for forty students. At The Scientific and Technical Conference, which is traditionally held at the end of each season, children presented the results of their work in our company. This time they had to carry out projects for reconstruction of internal ONHP premises. In particular, they developed the projects of the museum, the corporate university classrooms and the health center. In addition to developing project that shall comply with ONHP brand-book, and space-planning solutions, it was necessary to perform engineering calculations, make a 3D model of the facility and "hand over" executed work to company's experts. Children successfully got the things done, proving that the month at ONHP was profitable.
Totally this year brought the company 80 students, and among them there were teens from not only supported schools. Summer internship is conducted in ONHP as part of the program for training highly-qualified engineering personnel "School-University-Enterprise". During the year, company's specialists work with children in the walls of educational institutions, giving them lessons of vocational guidance. Only the most active and successful students can became practitioners – they shall pass competitive selection, have high academic progress, be a dynamic participants of school, city, regional and all-Russian academic competitions and contests. Our company provides high-school students with the golden opportunity to pass through a vocational guidance not only as engineer – you can get your feet wet in all divisions and departments.
"OHNP differs from other enterprises where I have worked, because here you have a chance to try your forces in a large number of professions without reference to the department you were allocated, and get a full picture of various jobs. It is a doubtless advantage and a distinctive feature of this program," - one of the trainees highlighted in his final essay, where he shared his impressions of the work in ONHP.
