OIL REFINING: FROM PAST TO FUTURE
On September 1, 2017, ONHP Scientific and Technical Library opened a Thematic Book fair "Oil refining: from past to future" dedicated to Oil and Gas Industry Workers Day, celebrated in Russia on the first Sunday of September since 1965 signifying successful development of Western Siberia oil and gas potential.
A broad range of literature related to the history of oilfields, petrochemical and oil refining technologies, oil and gas facilities, as well as industrial gift editions and periodicals, which cover current issues of oil and gas industry innovative development, investment projects and many other topics are demonstrated at the Book fair.
ONHP Scientific and Technical Library has been functioning since company foundation in 1953. Literature fund accounts for more than 50 000 thousand copies, including rare and valuable editions. Chronological depth of publications is about 100 years (since 1920).
Reference & Information Fund is represented by Scientific & Technical literature, comprised of Scientific & Reference publications on all strategic areas of ONHP activities namely: petrochemical, oil refining, chemical industry, offshore hydrocarbon production, construction, and related fields of science and production (chemistry, physics, mathematics, geodesy, economics, architecture, electrical engineering, heating engineering, water supply, etc.).
Normative Documents Fund combines Russian normative documents and international standards. All the data required for specialists engaged in design, revamp, design supervision and technical upgrading can be found in this fund. A wide range of international company standards (ISO, ASTM, API, ANSI, EN) including more than 200 copies in the original language are present in the library.
ONHP employees have an opportunity to search and order required documents or editions directly from their workplace via Fund Electronic Catalog i.e. IRBIS SW. Moreover, Scientific and Technical Library Fund editions are available to employees electronically by ONHP corporate network.
Every month each ONHP subdivision holds Information Days during which company employees get acquainted with Scientific & Technical and Scientific & Reference literature, as well as periodicals received during the month into Reference & Information Fund.
Many ONHP engineers and specialists have already enjoyed "Oil Refining: from Past to Future" Book Fair. Such thematic book exhibitions are conducted on regular basis by ONHP Scientific and Technical Library staff.
